Curiosity leads interaction with this tactile experience. The Specimen Explorer (previously The Exploration Station) evolved from our love of blending physical interactions with digital content. Using a customizable  database, some custom electronics, and a little bit of magic, the Specimen Explorer encourages visitors to place a specimen in the examination area, then instantly displays information about that item on the built-in touchscreen. Specimens can be housed in acrylic cases, cast in resin, or left as-is. The latest version of the SE has been built to travel! Perfect for classroom visits or loaned exhibits.
