Erin came to Perch with a unique idea. Her concept wasn’t another online dating service, but it wasn’t matchmaking, and it was certainly beyond the classic “meeting strangers at a bar” strategy. Erin wanted to foster a community of single adults that provided the space for individuals to interact authentically and locally, in Portland, through wellness focused events and optional relationship coaching.
We helped Erin settle on the name Local Flames for her new business. It had elements that appealed to men and women and the play on words was meaningful her slightly-older-than-online-dating demographic. We followed that up with a complete branding package and website to help her roll out the idea in the Portland region.
The goal was for Local Flames to have 300 members in their first year… and with only a handful of relationship coaches, they needed an online tool to help automate memberships and communication. Our solution was a custom application that featured coach to member messaging, online payment handling, follow up forms, billing management tools, member profile viewing, and many other member management features.
In addition to a full branding process and corresponding deliverables, Local Flames required a custom web-based communication platform, developed to the specifications of the client and the company’s users, built upon Django, with Stripe and Mandrill integration.
